Lucky Kali in danger of being sold to India!!!
Dear friends and supporters,
Our lovely Lucky Kali is in danger…
Sadly, as a result of the economic crisis and zero tourism for the last year and a half, many owners in Sauraha are deciding to sell their elephants, across the border to India. We are sure that most of you are aware of the work we are doing to raise awareness and prevent this illegal trade and trafficking.
Recently, our worst nightmare came true when Lucky Kali’s owner chose to not renew her lease and has decided he wants to sell her as soon as possible.
This means that Lucky could also be sent across the border to India, away from her comfortable home, her elephant friends, her freedom to play in the river and her kind and caring mahouts.
